That's one of a the many famous lines from the movie Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks as the irresistable simple charater of Forrest and his beloved only Black friend Bejamin Bufford known as "Bubba' starring Mykelti Williamson. On Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 Forrest Gump was one of 25 movies selected and named as a film classic by Library of Congress. Under the terms of the National Film Preservation Act, each year the Librarian of Congress names 25 films that are "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant
Forrest Gump filmed in 1994 is also named with 24 others which the Film Registry chose to have a reflection of a time period, or a exemplary review of a life in the United States. Other titles among the chosen were Bambi, The Cry of the Children, A Cure for Porkeritis. The Silence of the Lambs, the Big Heat and Charlie Chapman full length feature "The Kid". One of lesser known film also highlighted Black culture in America a film made by Frank Capra titled "The Negro Soldier" depicted lives of Black Servicemen in the world war; which was a film made for mandatory viewing in 1944 up until end of WWII. Out of 2,228 films only 25 were selected. Forrest Gump was nominated for 6 Academy Awards and won one for Best Picture in 1994.
