There's a lot of talk about bullying in schools these days. For the last 15 years or so, bullying has been constantly on the minds of most teachers, students, parents, school administrators, and counselors. If your kids attend schools that are anything like ours, they're talking about bullying all the time. As a consequence of all this well-intentioned discussion, our schools have developed fear-based cultures that have most kids convinced they are victims of bullying.
At least one Christian school counselor thinks it's time for parents and schools to change this culture of fear and victimization, equipping kids with rules of engagement and a sense of responsibility for themselves.
Full disclosure: this Christian school counselor is my husband. You can read his perspective in today's featured article, From Victims to Victors.
