DEAR GARDENERS: GARDEN WEDDINGS DO'S AND MAYBE'S (1131 hits)

DEAR GARDENERS:
JUNE 2012

Dear Gardeners:

June is premiere to the summer and also known as a month of weddings. If just by chance you are planning a yard garden wedding; you’ll want to be sure you have your garden taken care and well kept.

Twice in a lifetime I’ve had a wedding in my own yard, and believe me it was perfectly lovely, but I wouldn’t want to consider giving another one anytime in the near future! It requires plenty of planning and additionally, I had to have all plans in order to accommodate a garden’s marital ceremony. Since I was the hostess everything focused on the uses of my yard, garden and home be opened to the wedding and to the wedding party. When I hosted my garden weddings, It was summer, the wedding guests were hot, muggy, and of course, many of them did not want to sit out-of-doors! Now understand this, I was happy for the couples whom both have lasted in their marriage over 20 years and counting. So that’s why I’m advising you to do consider all involved.

I took in a few points that I think might help you if you ever or have been considered as a yard or garden wedding host or hostess:

SOME DO'S AND MAYBE'S POINTERS:

LIMIT GUEST AND INVITES:
Based on the capacity of your yard and home it’s better to limit the number of guests invited, I’m quite positive you’ll need to coordinate this with the wedding planner. I liked the idea that Facebook’s CEO used with the surprised wedding where it was a completely secret wedding, and only a few attended. But, I’m not recommending this if you have other plans, so don’t say I told you so.

DESIGN YOUR SETUP:
Draw up plans that will give the best flow for the wedding guests, food service and even restrooms. Include also where your wedding party will dress, sometimes it’s better to have the maid of honor and bride maids dress before arrival and the best man.

FOOD/CATERING/ENTERTAINMENT
For low budget weddings you make want the keep the menu very simple. Have a table setup that easily servable to the guests. You may want to consider appointing servers and have the table ready time for food and refreshments disbursements. If you’re catering, most time the caterer will have servers so the bride or wedding planner will have to be in good communication about food and food servers. Mainly, you’ll just have to have the locality in your yard; or garden. Stick to reasonable planning.

GENERAL CHECKLIST

Dozens of things go on at weddings, so make sure you have your general checklist including, time limit, and planning tips which include A to Z. You’re the host of the wedding locale not the wedding planner, but you’ll need to keep check on what’s going on during the visit to your home, yard and garden. Be assertive to consider all options are at your knowledge and any immediate changes of plans.

If you keep those few pointers in mind the wedding will go on with a hitch! I love weddings! Especially, when I can say poetry and perform as a bride! I’ve written enough this time. Don’t want to bore you. Are you attending any weddings this June? Always be a very cordial wedding guest...
Have fun and enjoy the June weddings! I’ll write you soon enough. Wedding bells can grow in gardens you know…

SO TELL ME …

HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?

MINE GROWS WITH LOTS OF LOVE….

Love and Harmony,
MIISRAEL

Speaking of wind...I attended a "Public Park" wedding of my nephews on Friday and the scene was beautiful by the Mississippi River front, but as soon as the lovely bride came walking down the sidewalk a subtle wind stirred up the runner! We were racing to hold it back in place until she passed by. Wind, and sun kind of go together for outdoor weddings. Still it was a wonderful setting and a gorgeous view!
