Your World/National News Day 26, 2014 NOVEMBER Commentary: The decision all known and in the opened now that the officer who shot Michael Brown will not be charged for any negligence in his death. Though, in Ferguson riots and breakouts rambled all including those in towns and cities across the entire United States. Monday's raw explosion ignites the country as another Black youth was also killed for having a toy gun in Cleveland. Protesters came in hundreds in cities to speak with a voice that Black Lives Matter. The frequent clashing of Black youth and the law have grown to flares. Many are tired of the pattern of young Afro-American men dying at the hand of the law which are never; or seldom charged with committing a crime. Protesters gathered in many places. On Tuesday cities took to the streets. In New York, to Chicago, Illinois even in Memphis, and in Oakland, California where some rioting broke out. Signs were raised high, people shouted, cars honked horns and in Ferguson held a rally of protesters who participated in a four-minute time of silence. However, as many are wanting a solution this will begin only if both youth and law begin to understand the value of lives. Black Lives Matter but we should not forget the law is the governing of the people. Laws must be obeyed, even by the keeper of law. There must be involvement in lives of youth whom are hot tempered, and fully are aware the best way to keep the law is obedience. When obedience fails; the results can take lives away so needlessly. Politicians, family, law makers have the attention focused. The real solution is the unity to resolve. Otherwise, protests may not be useful in saving another's life. Blacks have to stop killing their own race with drugs, prostitution, fighting, and the like if they want other races to stop killing them. Why would other races care about blacks if blacks don't care about themselves. Politically speaking....

Although you have a point, the greater issue at hand is Police brutality and choice to use or not use excessive force against civilians depending on the ethnicity of the individual. The violence that we hear of in inner cities has much to do with poverty which is also a greater issue not just here in America but many countries in the world.
Police brutality and the killing of un armed minorities in povert stricken inner cities and beyond ...has to stop now. Before Gerald Levert passed away from prescription medicine combo, he'd been a victim of police brutality that caused him to have to be on pain killers. All he was doing was trying to speak up for an aquantance that had been pulled over by the police and the police jumped him.
Moreover, I have a sweet little boy that is going to be approaching puberty soon and I am praying for him all the time that he will have a productive life and grow to a ripe old age without fearing for his life. It saddens me to think that our boys can't walk down the street or from school or the store without being profiled because of the color of their skin.
I'll tell you a true story about my rude awakening is when my baby was in nursery school and a care giver was upset with me that my son was taking toys away from other babies. My son was 6 months old and the only minority in there. When he started walking, I noticed that all the other toddlers were moving to the big kids class while he was being left in the beginning to crawl and walk class. I had to speak with the Director to gave him moved to the appropriate class.
Then I went for story time in the new class and noticed that he stayed close to me and wouldn't go sit in the circle with the kids like he was afraid. I spoke to the Director and told her my son was terrorized and she said why is he terrorized. I told her, if he could talk I could ask him but since he can't, all I can do he observe his behavior. He got moved to a different teacher and I observed he wasn't afraid. I need up taking him out of that nursery school when I resigned that job and started watching him myself. I'm always cognizant of the stereotypes about our kids so that I can be abreast if possible situations.
When he was in Senior kindergarten, his teacher hauled him off to the Pricipal's office for allegedly spitting on her colleague's kid. When I found out, I questioned the teacher as to why she would send a 5 year old boy to the Pricipal's office?! Or take the word of other 5 year olds ( that are known to want to want to be teachers' pets) when she the teacher didn't witness the incident? I told the teacher that I'm aware of the preconceived stereotypes many hold about Black boys being violent and aggressive, but my son was neither.
She didn't want to have this uncomfortable conversation with me for fear that I was insinuating racism for which I wasn't but that she was biased ( which we all tend to do whether unknowingly or knowingly). I was merely pointing out what I am aware of about Black boys,
Anywho, I went straight to the Principal and let them know that I thought that the teacher shouldn't send a 5 year old to the office as it's not suppose to be punitive but rather corrective behavior. I also wanted the Principal to understand that my son needs to be given the benefit of doubt just like the child of the teacher employed by him in his school. Hopefully that teacher did a cultural assessment of herself to see just how abreast she was about her own awareness of biases.

The Children of America are taking a stand for justice, they don't want to think fearful thoughts every time they see a police car. The Police should be a symbol of justice not brutality.

I would suppose that if you were a juror in the Trayvon Martin’s case you would have vote as the Whites did to acquit George Zimmerman!

@Thank you Helen there is a teaching tool I find in this. Somewhere, there is a lesson ,but at least we are aware we have to uphold the law --it's too bad that many young men have perished to find a solution will finally come. I believe it will.
