The terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday, didn’t just take the lives of French citizens, Americans are reportedly among the dead, as well.
Nohemi Gonzales, a 23-year-old college student from California, was one of the victims in the two restaurant shootings.
According to the New York Daily News:
California college student Nohemi Gonzalez was among the 129 people killed in the terror attacks in Paris, officials said Saturday, Gonzalez, 23, was studying abroad in a design program. She attended Cal State Long Beach.
College State University President Jane Close Conoley said of the loss of Gonzales:
“I am deeply saddened by the news of passing of the Long Beach State University Student Nohemi Gonzales. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this sad time.”
As bodies are still being identified, due to the high number of casualties, the chances of more American fatalities is likely.
President Obama has recently called the attacks in Paris “outrageous” and vowed America’s assistance to the French people to help bring the terrorists responsible to justice.
In contrast, French President Francois Hollande has called the attacks an ‘act of war’ and vowed a merciless response.
