S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our Mold machining function. As a Mold machinist, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. A Mold Machine Operator is responsible for operating an injection molding machine to produce polymer components efficiently. This role involves reviewing job orders and blueprints, setting up molds, adjusting parameters, and monitoring production to maintain optimal machinery conditions.Key Responsibilities:<ul style="list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px;"><li>Operate injection molding machine, ensuring the smooth and efficient production of simple polymer components.</li><li>Review job orders and simple blueprints to understand molding requirements.</li><li>Set up molds, adjust parameters, and monitor production, maintaining optimal operating conditions for the machinery.</li><li>Cycle molding machine and monitor its progress while performing secondary operations such as deflashing, inspection, visual and mechanical application of lubricating grease, and packaging of finished product.</li><li>Inspect finished products for defects, following quality assurance guidelines and escalating quality issues when needed.</li><li>Use hand tools like files, hammer, scrapper, air nozzle to blow off excess and clean molds, maintaining cleanliness and functionality of equipment.</li><li>Apply silicone mold release with a brush to ensure things don’t stick, facilitating efficient production processes.</li><li>Perform sandblasting operations as required.</li><li>Document completed jobs, ensuring accuracy and prompt reporting of issues.</li><li>Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards. </li><li>Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules. </li><li>Work with departmental mentors to gain and apply feedback in pursuit of improved work quality. </li><li>Maintain regular and punctual attendance. </li><li>Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required. </li><li>Communicate effectively and respectfully with others. </li><li>Other responsibilities as assigned.</li></ul> Required: <ul style="list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px;"><li>1+ year of machine operation experience in a production environment. </li><li>Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as scales and calipers. </li><li>Basic knowledge of machine controls and programs. </li><li>Ability to read blueprints.</li><li>Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests. </li><li>Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments. Able to escalate and explain issues to team leads and supervisors as needed.</li><li>Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications. </li><li>Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities, weights, and measurements. </li><li>Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department. </li><li>Good critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems and understand efforts to improve processes.</li><li>Good attention to detail with the ability to complete precise tasks and follow instructions accurately.</li><li>Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team. </li></ul> Preferred: <ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Knowledge of mold machines or polymer product. </li></ul>EducationRequired:<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>High School Diploma or GED. </li></ul>Physical demands: <ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Standing: Continuously required to stand and perform tasks </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Lifting & Carrying: Frequently required to solo or team lift and/or carry items exercising sound judgment to employ manual handling or machine lifts where required, and risk assessments, if appropriate. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Walking: Frequently required to walk moderate distances across the S&C campus. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.</li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Low Posture: Infrequently required to perform tasks using a low posture, including but not limited to stooping, bending, crawling, crouching, kneeling, or squatting </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Position Self/ Move: Frequently required to position self to perform tasks involving but not limited to reaching, twisting, rotating, and pushing/pulling. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Manual dexterity: Frequently required to use hand-eye coordination to control both hands and arms for a full range of motion to operate equipment/machinery/power tools/office productivity equipment. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Ascending/ descending: Frequently ascending or descending stairs and ladders. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Observation/ Eyesight: Frequently required to observe details at close range including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors. </li></ul>S&C Electric is committed to equal-opportunity employment.
