CNN Breaking News: American woman freed by Iran is grateful, humbled (1225 hits)

American Sarah Shourd released from Iranian prison where she was held over a year, state-run Iran TV reports.
AP - The American woman released by Iran on Tuesday after more than a year in prison said she was humbled and grateful to Iran's president for her freedom shortly before she boarded a flight to the nearby Gulf sultanate of Oman where her mother was awaiting her.

What gets me is why these Americans were even in Iran, a country who isn't friends of the West in the first place. It really pays to be informed of what's going on in the world and to know what destinations are actually American friendly so that one doesn't end up being a ploy of propaganda. I will have to say that I'm glad the Terhanian govt. released the woman prisoner because she probably would have died from the effects of being in isolation (depression, anorexia, dehydration, etc).
