News of a possible delay in back to school for MCS students won't return to classes until September. During this course of time, the MCS Council said it's an effort to allowed the Memphis City Government to payback funding owed in the amount of 55 million dollars. Since that hasn't happen, salaries of the teachers may also be stopped. The Memphis Mayor A.C. Wharton says that it is very difficult to payback the funding in one payment because it would effect the city's credit rating. This leaves teachers to hold a rally to force the city to show them the money and have students and teachers alike to return to classes before September. The rally is forming early this morning around 7:30 a.m. at City Hall. In addition, a meeting with the City Council and the Mayor and School Superintent Kriner Cash has been scheduled at 4:00p.m. this afternoon to get an agreement to have students return to school. This means parents may have to make adjustments for their children's wait to return to school, and the teachers salaries up in the air may result in a time and without money.

Today...
is the very last day to registar for participants entering the upcoming Mayor's race. So far 7 people have registrated including present Mayor Wharton. Kenneth Whalon was one of the candidates, but withdrew his registration instead. Local polictians are seeking their time to fill the seat. The race promises to have a timing effect as well.
That'll have to wait though...it's time to move on..
A NEW ANIMAL SHELTER

A 2 million dollar budget is waiting the opening of the new animal shelter to open its doors in September. Plans for the more expansion will upgrade the over-crowding in the present shelter. In addition the shelter will be allowed to improve its history of recent incidents of discredits involving animal and staffing alleged abusives and neglect of encourage a more operational and proficient shelter's upgrades.
September isn't far away.

Memphians are under a heat advisory as temperatures are setting the alarm time for hotter days!!! Heat indexes are up to 105 and that has the city in the 98 degree highs or more. Conditions like these can cause heat exhaustion and dangerous breathing conditions. All city citizens are advised to drink plenty of water, and find and remain if possible in cool places. Memphis has suffered some losses of life due to the extreme heat. Find a friend, go to a mall but find somewhere to stay alive and keep cool.
It's no money in that story
but just time to use safety.
