FREEHOLD — Arthur E. Morgan III attached a car jack to the car seat of his 2-year-old daughter to weigh it down, thus ensuring the little girl would not survive when he tossed her into a stream, a prosecutor said in court Monday.
Morgan, who was arrested in California last week and returned to New Jersey, made his initial appearance on the murder charge in court on Monday afternoon. Superior Court Judge Thomas F. Scully continued bail at $10 million, cash only.
Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Richard E. Incremona said the toddler, Tierra Morgan-Glover, was “awake, alert, and helpless,” strapped in her car seat when her father tossed her from the bridge. Incremona made the comment during his argument on why prosecutors requested the high bail.
