It's Mother's Day and Happy Mother's Day Every Mother, and Mother-in-law,
To begin there is a fascinating story behind the story of Ruth and her mother-in-law Naomi. Both were women first of all of different culture and backgrounds. When the daughters-in-law of Naomi's sons were made widows and Naomi also was a widower that left three women without a man in the house. Naomi was left poor and lost her possessions told both her daughters-in-law to return home. They both were still young enough to marry again and find new husbands, but Naomi being of old age was finished with child-bearing and nearing too old to marry again. So having to return to her homeland, she packed up to travel a long road home. The daughters-in-laws traveled with her, but one of her daughters -in -laws decided not to continue with the journey. However, Ruth loved Naomi so much she dedicated herself to stay and care for her. Taking on the challenge of feeding her and seeing to her necessary situation of poverty. All this caring heart led Ruth to gleam the wheat fields to make bread to eat. Casting the will of God came unto Ruth, for the owner of the wheat fields Boaz, who was duly wealthy took pity on her and requested that the field works leave extra pieces for her to gleam.
The beauty of a relationship between Boaz and Ruth blossomed, and then too Naomi discovered the opportunity to help her daughter-in-law find a husband that could care for her impoverish conditions. Naomi discovered that Boaz was a relative of hers and a matchmaking formed as she encouraged Ruth to lay at Boaz's feet during a night's rest. Boaz's eyes favored Ruth and a marriage was made.
Yet, looking at such an amazing story of a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law's love. Two women both widows from different backgrounds made a no division of difference in finding a better life away from indigent living conditions. Not only did Ruth love Naomi so much, she also took her as her very own mother. Ruth believing so to trust Naomi also left the traditions of her gods and worship of other idols to become a believer in the God of Heaven. Ruth wanted to be included totally believing in Naomi's God the One and Only True God.
What then says this of non-believers in the God of Heaven cannot become believers? This story is true evidence of this. In addition, there is the deep love that was displayed between the two women of different backgrounds. How much so one today can also adopt a mother, or a mother-in-law with the beautiful element of showing love in a pure heart. Most importantly, the wheat fields which indicates that a growing loving heart is truly fed with Heaven's Bread.
Mothers and Daughters, Sons and In-laws. How so special is God's love for everyone willing to gleam for it. A Perfect Adoption of the Heavenly Kingdom.
"And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee:
for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou
lodgest, I will lodge; thy people shall be my people,
and thy God my God."
