California Lawmakers Vote Down Bill That Would Have Hurt Christian Nonprofits (356 hits)

A California bill that would have harmed groups that uphold Christian values failed last week. The bill would have impacted organizations such as Campus Crusade for Christ, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, InterVarsity, Young Life and Youth for Christ. The legislation would have taken away certain tax exemptions from nonprofit youth organizations that do not support or encourage openly homos*xual leaders or members. It also would have added "gender identity" to the list of what these groups must embrace.
