STOPPING BY
AT HOMETOWN MEMPHIS LIL' EXTRA!

" That girl in the photo remembers when
cause she's wearing that 'fro!"

You will read the stories
of "That was when. . ."

So since you're here you'll
begin with the first one!

That was when...begins...

THE DAY BEFORE IT WAS NICEY
BUT THE NEXT DAY
THAT WAS WHEN....
EVERYTHING WENT ICEY!
Memphis, TN
December 06, 2013

The weather did take a different turn as an ice storm was predicted to make slick streets and frozen trees. The Memphis weather is just that way. Memphians enjoyed a beautiful sunny day on December 05, 2013 with temperatures in the low 70's only to change within hours, but that was when a rainy night and a sleeting icy freeze had school and many businesses closing early and all together. Conditions of the pass through system of weather left over 5,000 without power. In some areas downed trees fell and one even toppled over on a home. Residents and drivers are advised to remain at home, and only drive if it is absolutely necessary. Trees began freezing up on power lines and the utility crews are working diligently to restore power, however residents are advised it may be a slow, and cold process.

"Brrrrr....it's a Memphis mess.
Even Hometown Memphis has made national news for it's weather.

Yes, there's another story of that was when...
Keep on reading now, I can feel you're anticipation. Slow down a bit there.
It's a bit of a slip up!

WHILE GETTING A BIT TO EAT
THE ORDER TURNED OUT REALLY SUNNY
NO FOOD IN THE BAG, BUT THAT WAS WHEN..
THERE WAS SOME MONEY
Hermitage, TN
December 06, 2013

A couple decided to pick up a breakfast snack at their local McDonalds found their order included a real sunny treat. As they drove away with the order bag opening to feast on a breakfast meal, that was when they noticed that bag had no food at all. The couple's bag was filled with money containing several thousands of dollars. The McDonald's clerk had accidently filled the sack with the restaurant's deposit. The couple was tracked by the employee to their home which was only minutes away to retrieve the cash, which they happily returned saying the were just getting reading to take it back. As far as their breakfast order, well they got it all worked. They said they would be always coming back for breakfast there, but chances are they're likely not have a bag breakfast like that one ever again.

"What an order, that was when... I would get my GPS and try to find that McDonalds quick!"

I can take a boat perhaps...but don't you take a nap,
not yet I have another story for you... so wake up for a minute...

SPLISH! SPLASH!
IT WAS WASN'T A BATH,
BUT THAT WAS WHEN....
THE WATER CAUSED
QUITE A FLASH!
Memphis, TN
December 06, 2013

An early morning commute had some drivers on Winchester looking at a huge puddle of water. Some thought it was the freezing rain, others were thinking it was flashing flooding, but that was when it was discovered it must be a result of a busted water vein. However, it was all due to a "clogged drain." The view was a few inches high, and caused some traffic problems. Soon though; the moving commuters were on their way.

"I wonder if Liquid Plummer was used?"
DU...UGH!

They probably wondered where all that water came from..
"I reckon?"
Memphis weather has no surprises to Hometown.

I have one more story that might be really great. . . Cause it's the last one in this Lil Extra!

Greetings Irma! We are used to what we call "Memphis Weather" it changes drastically everyday...We also were suppose to have runners on Saturday with the St. Jude Children's Research Marathon. It was cancelled due to the icy streets. Today, Sunday 12.8.13 we have rain and cold temps in the high 30's. So, from icy, to rainy. Forecasts warming up and some sun and cold. As far as finding that bag of money I won't hold my breath of that being in my bag of fast food! LOL!

I enjoy hometown, it has a bit of country, and a bit of city. I think that's a balance even when we can't control the weather. It's funny, many people wanted to beat up the weather men because some of their predictions of the bad weather went overboard! It was hilarious!
