Air pollution has been linked to 7 million deaths annually. This is according to a report recently issued by the World Health Organization. WHO said that air pollution ranks one in eight deaths globally. This ranks with other causes of deaths like cancer, respiratory, and heart disease. Findings in the report stated that 7 million people died of air pollution in 2012 resulted from air pollution. Nearly 6 million of the deaths reportedly came from South East Asia and the Western Pacific regions. The data also stated that 3.3 million people died from pollution of indoors air and 2.6 million for air pollution outside. The study by WHO also reported that it mostly affected low income women and young children. An accurate report by WHO found that 40 percent of outdoor deaths resulted in strokes, and 40 percent from heart disease.
In pollution countries and cities like Beijing many days people wear masks to help combat breathing heavy air pollutants and toxins. Experts are pinpointing on cleaning up the air or continual deaths from related illness will surely increase. The WHO makes declaration that this report is most accurate to date relating to global air pollution which is constantly on the rise and making many lives short-lived by polluted related causes of death.
