Martial law lifted in Thailand....

The current martial law was lifted by Thailand's military after being in effect since May 2014.   The Military Government decided to place the law in effect in 2014 due to a military coup.  However, Prime Minister Gen Prayuth gave order on a televised announcement lifting the order with the approval from the king.   The Military stated according to news media that there will be changes and security laws would be put in effect instead.

The new security order of law will be enforced by Thailand's Article 44.   This article allows the Prime Minister to issue orders that will "disrupt and supress" to the national security of the monarchy.  This Article would allow soldiers to arrest anyone without  a search warrant if any incidents of threats occured.  The Thailand government officially known as The National Council for Peace and Order said it would promise to restore democracy in 2015 and hold elections, however some crackdowns continues,  and censors of oppositioners and news media have faced some conflict with arrests.  Many critics feel the new order of law will violate human rights.  The military government took over Thailand's government with the martial because of protests in May 2014.
