Thousands waited. . .
Touring the site of Pompei had at least 2,000 tourist waiting in the sun and heat for several hours while inside while local trade unions prompted a surprise meeting on July 24, 2015. The long lines of tourists suffered through the heatwave to site see the exhibitions at the Pompei's archelogical site gates, but the locked gates kept them outside.
Four of the trade unions decided to hold strikes at the last one was cancelled on Tuesday and suddenly rescheduled for Friday, July 24, 2015. Workers were readily to discuss pay and wages but took the exact day and time when many tourists bought tickets to go inside. Many called the display of union talks embrassing and said it may hurt future tourism, however the negoiations did not open until all was taken into consideration of a strike to have all things settled. The waiting lasted from scheduled opening time of 8:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. Many of the heated tourists complained, but most stayed suffering in the heat.
