Today’s Marriage Prayer – For Courage and Strength (30 hits)

Dear Heavenly Father,

Give us the courage to follow Your will, and the strength to endure temptation.

Marriage is wonderful in so many ways, but some days it’s harder than we ever imagined it could be.

We give into pride, we yield to temptation, we hold on to our anger, and we’re selfish at times.

And so we’re asking for the wisdom and strength to choose love. We’re asking for the courage it takes to put down our pride and pick up the instruments of kindness and peace.

As brave and mighty warriors wait on the command of their captain, we yield our lives to Your will.

In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. – Psalm 18:1-3, KJV

I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and I have been saved from my enemies. – Psalm 18:1-3, NIV
