A charter bus accident resulted in 5 dead.
The bus had a fatal ending as 5 people were killed in a charter bus accident in Los Angeles early Tuesday morning August 02, 2016. The bus struck a pole which tore a section of the bus at the Hammett Avenue exit sign. Numerous people were injured. There were 30 people aboard the bus when the accident happened around 3:35 a.m. LA time. News media reported that the bus carrying the passengers happened on Highway 99 in Merced County.
Current reports stated that the bus charter group originated in Mexico and stopped in LA overnight before departing. Emergency officials aided the injured. The 57 year old bus driver was said to have received serious injuries was also taken to the hospital. Investigations continues as the highway was closed most of the day.
