Grounds lay with remains of mountain reindeer in Norway.
Heavy rains and lightning strikes killed over 300 of the animals was said to be the main cause of deaths. The animals lived wild and free in the Hardanvidda plateau in Southern Norway. Reindeer usually travel in packs and may have grouped together when lightning strikes killed a large group of them. Park officials are deciding to let nature run it's course, of give some assistance. The storm came on Friday night, August 26, 2016 but bodies of the reindeer weren't discovered until Monday, August 29, 2016 by the gamekeeper. It was described as one the largest group death of reindeer in the park's history.
